Sofia Marathon
Overview The Sofia Marathon is a marathon held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, since 1983. The course starts in Battenberg Square in front of the Rijksmuseum, completes two laps of the half marathon course and finishes again in Battenberg Square.The half marathon course passes over the Lions Bridge and then the Church of St. Nedela. Then head east to Georgi Rakovski Street and follow it northeast to Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard. After the parliament building, turn north and enter Vasil Levski Boulevard in front of the parliament building.Next you will mostly pass Knyaz Alexander Dondukov Boulevard、 Vladimir Vazov Boulevard and the airport.After returning to Vasil Levski Boulevard in the city center, runners turn west past the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and return to Battenberg Square.Along the way you will pass the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a famous Byzantine church.The exterior of this temple, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, […]
