Course Overview
Starting Point
The emotional journey begins near Laugavegur street in downtown Reykjavik. Runners lining up at the starting line early in the morning are treated to views of iconic Reykjavik buildings such as Harpa Concert Hall and Austurvöllur Square. The first few kilometers wind through the city center, allowing you to fully experience the city’s atmosphere.

・Early to mid-course:From the city center, the course heads southwest along the beautiful coastline. The magnificent views of Faxaflói Bay and the distant mountains will encourage runners. This relatively flat section is ideal for aiming for a personal best.

・Elevation difference:The elevation difference of the entire course is approximately 100m in elevation gain and approximately 100m in cumulative elevation descent. The highest point is 45m and the lowest point is 0m. Overall, there are gentle undulations, but few steep hills, making it a relatively runnable course.
・Weather:Reykjavik, where the race is held in late August, often has the perfect weather for running. The average temperature is 10-15°C, and it is usually cool and very comfortable to run in if the wind is calm. However, as the weather can change quickly, bringing rain gear is recommended.
