Course Overview
Starting Point
The inspiring journey begins on the Champs-Élysées, with the Arc de Triomphe behind you. Early in the morning, runners lining up at the starting line are treated to a magnificent view of the Champs-Élysées, one of the most beautiful avenues in the world. Running past the Opéra and the Louvre Museum, the historical buildings and grand cityscape of Paris will lift your spirits.
Sights along the way
The Paris Marathon course will captivate runners with its diverse scenery and enthusiastic cheering.
・Early stages:From the Champs-Élysées, you’ll pass through Place de la Concorde and the Louvre Museum before heading towards the Hôtel de Ville (Paris City Hall). The exhilarating feeling of running among historical buildings is exceptional.
・Middle stages:Run along the Seine River, catching glimpses of Notre Dame Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower. The experience of running so close to the Eiffel Tower is a unique highlight of the Paris Marathon. This section is relatively flat and easy to run, and crossing beautiful bridges throughout allows you to feel the diverse facets of Paris.
・Later stages:Enter the Bois de Boulogne, running through lush natural scenery. This is a rare section that allows you to enjoy a forest bath despite being an urban marathon. The undulations in the forest are challenging, but the light filtering through the trees and the tranquility enhance runners’ concentration. After exiting the forest, you return to the city center and head towards the finish.
