The Melbourne Marathon is an unforgettable and exciting stage for runners who run through the beautiful cityscape and challenge their own limits.
Runners who run at a pace of over 5 hours can participate with peace of mind. We will support you to finish safely and on time by changing the course. The course branches at the 22km point and a circular route is added on Brunton Avenue, but the finish line is the same MCG!
Run through the historic city with enthusiastic support from the roadside and aim for the finish line. The sense of accomplishment after finishing the run will be an irreplaceable treasure.

The Melbourne Marathon, held every October, is a major event that attracts many runners from both inside and outside of Australia, and is held in Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, Australia. In the refreshing season when you can feel the breath of new greenery, and in perfect conditions with a maximum temperature of 20°C and a minimum temperature of 9°C, you will run through a course that condenses the charm of Melbourne.
・Starting point:The starting point is the street in front of Melbourne Park Tennis Centre, known as the venue for the Australian Open tennis. Your marathon challenge begins on the stage of a world-class sporting event.
・10km:Run through the area around Albert Park, which is also famous as the F1 course, and the beautiful Albert Park lakeside, enjoying the harmony of urban scenery and nature.
・15km:Pass the historic Flinders Street Station area and experience the history and culture of Melbourne.
・20km:Run along the coastline of St. Kilda Beach, feeling the fresh sea breeze and feeling free to do so. You can enjoy the charm of Melbourne as you run through beautiful cityscapes where Victorian and modern architecture blend together.
・Finish point:The finish point is the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which can accommodate 100,000 people. You will reach the finish line amid the cheers of the large crowd.
・Turnaround at 22km:At the turnaround point from Beaconsfield Parade to Fitzroy Street, 22km into the marathon course, runners who are slowing down will be redirected.Runners who are redirected will be given an identification wristband.
・Course shortening and alternative route:Runners who are redirected will not run the southern section of the course.To make up for the shortened distance, an alternative route has been set up that makes 7 laps around Brunton Avenue (1 lap is 1.1km).
・The finish line is the same MCG:After passing through the alternative route, all runners will head for the finish line at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which is the common finish line for all runners.
The course is relatively flat and easy to run, so beginners and veterans alike can participate with confidence.
In Melbourne in October, the average temperature is around 15°C, making it the perfect climate for a marathon.
