Course Overview

Starting Point

The emotional journey begins at the starting point near the Linzer Stadion. Starting next to the bustling stadium, runners immediately head toward the Danube River. In the clear air of the early morning, you will enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Danube River and the contrast with the historic cityscape, and your anticipation for the race will grow.

Sights along the way

The Linz Marathon course is not only flat and easy to run, but also features a landscape that blends beautiful nature with historic buildings.

・1-10 miles:After the start, the course immediately runs along the north bank of the Danube River. This section is almost completely flat, and runners can set a light pace while enjoying the majestic scenery of the Danube River. The spectators along the road are constantly cheering, as if the whole city is welcoming the runners.

・11-13 miles:A bridge awaits you to cross the Danube River to return to the center of Linz. From the bridge, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the historic cityscape, including Linz Castle and St. Mary’s Cathedral.

・14 miles to the finish:The course proceeds east along the south bank of the Danube River, crosses the bridge again, and returns to the north bank.
