Held every year in early October, it is a 42.195km journey through historic downtown, Old Colorado City, and the beautiful Pueblo Road. The challenge of a high-altitude run at 6,000 feet (approx. 1,800m) tests the runner’s mind and body, but the breathtaking scenery of Pikes Peak and the warm cheers of the local people lining the course give you a powerful push.

Course Overview
Starting Point
The emotional journey begins on Vermijo Avenue, right next to the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. Runners lining up at the starting line in historic downtown early in the morning are treated to the crisp, clear air of the high altitude at over 6,000 feet and the magnificent scenery of the Rocky Mountains at dawn.
Sights along the way
The Colorado Springs Marathon course attracts runners with its diverse scenery and gentle ups and downs.
・2-8 miles:After leaving historic downtown, you will enter Old Colorado City, a place steeped in history and culture. This area is characterized by colorful buildings and quaint streets, where spectators on the sidelines offer warm support.
・9-17 miles:The middle of the race offers scenic views along Pueblo Road. This section is relatively flat, allowing for a relaxed run. Maintain your pace while enjoying the clear air that is unique to this high-altitude location.
・18 miles to the finish:The final stage of the course takes you onto the scenic Pikes Peak Greenway Trail. This section offers a magnificent view of Pikes Peak and the Front Range mountains. There are some gentle ups and downs, but the beauty of nature will surely push runners towards the finish line.

・Elevation difference:The total elevation gain of the course is about 245m, and the cumulative descent is also about 245m. The highest point is 1964m, and the lowest point is 1815m. The high altitude of about 1,800m itself makes the thin air a major challenge for runners.
・Weather:Colorado Springs, where the race is held in early October, often has the perfect weather for running. The average temperature is 2-18°C, and it is usually dry with a large temperature difference between day and night.
