The Rio de Janeiro Marathon is one of the urban marathons that excites runners from all over the world. Held annually in early June, it is a magnificent 42.195km journey from Pontal to Flamengo Park, touring beautiful coastlines and historic cityscapes. The course, which combines magnificent nature and urban areas, is spectacular, and the flat roads along the coast are easy to run on, but some parts are hilly and challenging. However, the endless cheers of the spectators filling the roadside give the runners a powerful push.
