The Cape Town Marathon is a unique marathon that runs through breathtaking scenery. The course with Table Mountain in the background and two oceans will be an unforgettable experience for runners.
・Start point:Green Point area around Cape Town Stadium. The spacious area allows you to warm up comfortably before the start.
・5km:Start to Waterfront: Start from Green Point and head to the bustling Waterfront area. This section is relatively flat and perfect for warming up. You can enjoy a refreshing run while feeling the sea breeze of the Atlantic Ocean.
・5km to 15km:Go through the city and proceed along a course with a close view of Table Mountain. The majestic scenery will give you a strong motivation. From this point onwards, there will be some ups and downs.
・15km to 30km:The course around the city is a section where you can feel the history and culture of Cape Town. The support from the roadside is also exciting and gives energy to the runners.
・30km to 40km:The section that runs along the coastline offers beautiful ocean views. This is when fatigue accumulates, but the magnificent scenery encourages the runners. However, there is a possibility that the wind from the sea may affect the course.
・Finish point:The runners return to Green Point for an emotional finish. After reaching the goal, they will be filled with a sense of accomplishment and relief.
The Cape Town Marathon course is said to be relatively flat, but there are gentle ups and downs throughout the course. In particular, there are some undulations around Table Mountain, so we recommend checking the course map in advance. Overall, it is a course that is easy to aim for a record.
The Cape Town Marathon is held in October, which is spring in the Southern Hemisphere. The average temperature is around 15℃ to 25℃, and the sun can be strong during the day. However, the weather is changeable and there can be sudden rain and wind, so we recommend that you prepare clothes that can withstand changing weather.
