Participant comments
“I was able to experience the culture of Baltimore while running through the historic cityscape.”
“The view of the Inner Harbor was truly amazing.”
“The cheers from the sidelines encouraged me, and I was able to run to the end.”
“It was fun to interact with other runners while drinking local beer.”
Strategy
The key to conquering the Baltimore Marathon is smart pacing on the hills. Start conservatively through the Inner Harbor to save your legs for the infamous ascent around miles 16-20. Use the flat loop around Lake Montebello to recover and maintain a steady pace. Once you hit mile 21, let the downhill slope and the energy of the crowd carry you to the finish line in the Inner Harbor. Given the generally favorable mid-October climate, strategic pacing on the course’s challenging elevation profile is the most important element for success.
The Baltimore Marathon is a 42.195km challenge that takes you deep into the soul of “Charm City.” Run with thousands of dedicated athletes through a city rich in American history and vibrant local culture, and experience a rewarding sense of achievement.
