The Berlin Marathon is one of the World Marathon Majors, held every year on the last Sunday of September in Berlin, Germany.
Starting from the Tower of Victory, the course goes around the Berlin Wall, the Wilhelm Memorial Church and other historical sites, runs through the city of Berlin, and finishes at the Brandenburg Gate, which was not possible during the Cold War. It is one of the highest speed courses in the world because it is a flat course with a height difference of 20m.
Many world records and many of the fastest records of all categories have been achieved at this Berlin Marathon.
